“Why Write?” Not Another Sappy Confession…

The sappiness that goes with “why write?” is neither bad nor unnatural. It’s part of the writing process, whether the writer is starting out or a craft-master.

So why write?

“Why write?” articles appear in millions throughout the World Wide Web.

To ask the question is to undergo the quest. Questioning is a  journey of discovery. We learn more as we question.  Our curiosities peak and intrigue that insatiable hunger for more.

Journeying by way of pen or plume, etching and scratching, I write and we meet. Writer learns about himself, and readers enjoy a date under the tree with he who wrote. That creative writer opens our eyes to unimaginable ways of seeing and embracing the world. Likewise, readers make the writers, for without them the written word is but a thing left for dead. Writers write souls, and readers breathe life into them. Together conjoin in journeying.

The sappiness that goes with “why write?” is neither bad nor unnatural. It’s part of the writing process, whether the writer is starting out or a craft-master.

So why write? because

… writing is writing is writing…

Writing is daunting and tedious. Writing makes us overcome the fear of expressing ourselves explicitly. It bares us to us and to others. The clarity of writing denudes us. Mirrored in writing, our existence is human all too human. Writing bares our humanity by shedding the weight of ignorance and pretense in the process of embracing creativity and all that is life.

Writing is life.

Writing is writing is writing because writing never ends. Expression never ends. Saying something is never the final word, and writing something is never the end of a book. There is always more to write because silence needs a body and voice. Writing is to silence, what color is to the eye.

Unleash those colorful words, and let your writing thrive in the spirit of being you.

Writing is writing is writing because writing is an act of pleasure. Write like you fuck. A better lover is a better writer. Readers and Lovers feel the excitement of being turned on by words and touches. Writers touch their readers. Readers feel their writers. The love of reading is in the pleasure of writing. Sexual orgasms are written in the Kama Sutras of then, now, and hereafter. Writing is sex and spice.

Write to fuck, and fuck to please.

Writing is writing is writing because writing is an act of humbleness. We write not because we discover something others have not. We write because we can say the same thing in ways different to others. Our differences humble us. Humility is not sheepishness or poverty of soul. Humility is to know that some other being will write something potentially superior to our own. We excel, they surpass us, we learn, we excel, and the cycle goes on. This is not a hamster’s wheel. It’s the cycle of journeying by way of writing. Humility is an act of kindness between readers and writers. Like gifts. Humility in writing is the gift to make readers smile, to enthrall them in the suspense of a story, to ease their decision-making with a product review, to…to…to…to…

Write a gift!

…writing is writing is writing…
